An idyllic setting by the lake
Since the 1940s, guests have revisited this secluded destination and appreciated the warmth of a host family on the banks of the three lake area. Many a memorable gathering have been held here at what was a lakeside kiosk, from picnics to boating, to early romances which blossomed into lifelong relationships. Not much has changed since those quaint beginnings.
In 1963, after several expansions of the initial kiosk, Tony Taur submitted an application to construct a hotel. For many years, the plan failed due to unsuitable conditions for a project of this magnitude. Meanwhile, Anton Tauer Jr. toured for a decade, from 1960 to 1970, with DSG - The Dining Car Company, traveling the world as a trained chef collecting accreditations such as: cooking in St. Gallen; gourmet menu selecting for Regina Palast Hotel in Munich; and a slew of experience in the galley on a middle- American freighter route. In 1970, the building permission was finally granted followed by a two year construction period. In March of 1972, The Seehof Tauer opened with 22 beds. Ongoing expansion projects have grown the family business to 51 beds. Anton Tauer and his wife, Brigitte, led the hotel until 2004.
Karina Siedl-Tauer, inherited the hotel in 2004. As 3rd generation of the family tradition, the hotel business is in her blood.
Beginning in 2006, there have been additional expansions including a wellness area complete with sauna, steam-bath, infrared-cabin, whirlpool-tub, and a large relaxation room. Over the years, the entire hotel has been renovated from restaurant to the lake
errace to new suites. And in years to come? We have many plans but, as always, our commitment is to maintain our standards and preserve our modern cozy feeling.
